My husband was too hot in our studio today as we were finishing our holiday gifts. So the next thing I saw were his shoes and pants sitting on the floor…and he was behind the work table in his socks, shirt and underwear finishing a Christmas gift. That is one of the beauties of having your own studio space, you can do whatever you want in creating your art.

What I thought about after seeing his jeans on the floor was the freedom he feels in being himself. He knows what he wants and is not afraid to live his life his way. He was a bit concerned as the bell on our exterior door chimed when people entered. But his pants were close by if he had needed them. I’m glad he was willing to get comfortable so he could create wonderful things.

Sometimes in life we have to shed what is the norm in order to take our lives to the next level. What do you need to get rid of in order to take your life to a better place? It may be debt, it may be negative people, it may be a couple pounds, a bad haircut , or a habit that gets you no where. This is the time of year when it’s time to take inventory of life and see what we want to keep and what we want to let go. Be willing to make a change.
