We had dinner with friends this evening, then just hung out on the screened porch. There was food, there was drink, there was barbeque…what more could you ask for? Through out life we make friends, lose friends, find them again. They support us through broke weekends and years of abundance. They love us through triumphs and heartache. Friends come in all shapes and sizes.
I learned long ago that there are friends for life, friends for long, friends for short and friends who are more like family. The different kinds of friends serve different purposes in our lives. As you read this I am sure you can think of friends who fall into all these categories. I also encourage you to think about the types of friend you are and what role you are serving in the lives of others. We all want friends, which means we must first be a friend. Like respect and trust, friendship is earned and easily lost or taken for granted.
As you walk through your days nd interact with different people in your life…think about the friendship they bring and what you bring. Think about the value they have in your world and the important voice they provide in your life. Take a simple moment tot hand them for their friendship and let them know what they mean to you. Don’t let the day end without telling at least one of your friends how much they mean to you…friendship comes in many forms.
